Writing moderation meetings for year 2 and year 6 teachers

Louise Mallin will be running focused writing moderation meetings for year 2 and year 6 teachers across the county this term. The meetings will take place at a number of different venues and will run from 3.45pm-5.00pm (arrival at the venues from 3.30pm for a 3.45pm start).

During the first part of the session, a key statement from the teacher assessment framework will be unpicked using national training materials:

– Year 2 teachers will look at cohesion and cohesive devices.

– Year 6 teachers will look at the integration of dialogue in narrative to convey character and advance action.

Following this input, teachers will then have time to look through some of their own pupils’ writing books concentrating on, and evidencing, the statement for their key stage.

Please use the links in the training calendar on the Northumberland Education website to sign up for a meeting. **Teachers should bring books for 3-6 pupils.
