Ofsted is piloting a new approach to recruiting part-time inspectors, bringing groups of serving school leaders together through local authorities, school networks and trusts. The aim is to make inspection more collaborative, strengthen professional learning and ensure inspection is informed by current leadership experience.
This presents an opportunity for senior leaders in Northumberland schools to contribute directly to the national education system while enhancing their own professional development. Under the pilot, schools receive financial support to release leaders for inspection work, with participation recognised as part of a professional development pathway.
We are looking to put together a group of senior leaders (from maintained schools) who the local authority can endorse to become part of the pilot. This could be an opportunity to contribute to the wider education community while supporting your own professional growth.
