Creatively Healthy Schools
Guidance for Northumberland educational settings on developing creatively healthy practices.
What is Creative Health?
Any creative activity that helps people take part in ways that matter to them, focusing on enjoyment and the experience rather than the end result.
“The arts and creativity are fundamental to children’s development and wellbeing, giving them opportunities to express themselves, explore emotions and ideas, build social connections, and nurture vital life skills. Embedding access to the arts in every school should be at the heart of educational strategies.”
(Daisy Fancourt - Professor of Psychobiology and Epidemiology at University College London (UCL) and Director of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Arts and Health.)
