Work Experience Offer for our young people with Special Educational Needs

Work Experience and Preparing for Adulthood sessions for our young people with Special Educational Needs provided free of charge by Choices College.

At choices College we recognise how important Preparing for Adulthood and transitions are to young people taking their next steps into adulthood.

Therefore we have the following offer to schools and colleges for those SEND learners still within their provision (please also see attached flyer):

Preparing for Adulthood sessions

Our College Team are happy to offer a bespoke preparing for adulthood package to be delivered to small groups of learners within your school. The interactive package would covering engaging topics to encourage learners to begin to consider their next steps towards employment. (These can be organised directly with the team and will be dependent on capacity)

Virtual Work Experience Programme

We have a bespoke virtual work experience package built specifically to enable students to gain knowledge about the working world. The programme has many modules to complete. This can be delivered in house by school staff during PHSE/Careers Lessons. Full support from the College team will be given. (This can be accessed straight away and would be available to any SEND provision/college in Northumberland)

Face to Face Work Experience Programme

We offer term-time work experience placements which usually last six weeks, but can be shorter. Students start work at 9:30am and finish at 12:15pm. Slight variations around this time can be negotiated with the schools. Students will participate in a certificate presentation on completion (this will commence after Christmas, it will be on a first come first serve basis, although we will try to offer as many students as possible an opportunity through the year – ideally it would be for those that are wishing to access the provision 25/26)

All of the above are offered to schools to aid with preparing learners for adulthood and to enable successful transitions onto their next steps, hopefully onto our Supported Internship

All of the above can be arranged by emailing:
