The current road safety training coordinator retires at the end of January and a replacement will be organised. If you have a road safety issue or plan to run activities within your school, the following resources may be helpful to you:
Northumberland Road Safety for Schools – a quick scroll through this might help you find assembly presentations, ideas for different activities, dates for national events, various resources to share with guardians and access links to help staff or children who may have been involved in a road incident. For secondary schools there are links to various resources for students who are learning to ride a motorbike or drive a car.
Northumberland Road Safety – Community – this includes information and games that guardians can use to help discuss road safety with their children.
School Parking Issues Toolkit – if you are experiencing parking problems around your school, this provides several social media posts and letters that your school can use to act as reminders about parking.
Speeding – if you are experiencing drivers choosing to drive too fast near your school, please contact your Community Police Officer.
If you have any other requirements about road safety issues, including Bikeability, please contact highwaysprogramme@northumberland.gov.uk
