We want to hear from families to help shape the future of services for children and young people with SEND in Northumberland
Families are encouraged to have their say by completing an online survey through the Local Offer website and sharing their experiences about what is working well and what needs to change.
It’s important that we hear from as many parents and carers as possible, please share the below information with your parents and carers who have children with SEND.
The deadline for the survey is September 20th.
At the end of last term, we were pleased to share with you Northumberland’s new Local Offer website for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
The SEND Local Offer provides a wide range of information about all the support which families can expect to find in their area for children and young people aged 0-25 who have additional needs.
It brings together information about services including:
- · education
- · health
- · social care
- · sport and leisure
- · transport
- · preparation for adulthood

Families are invited to have their say on the future of services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Northumberland.
Northumberland County Council and its NHS partners, would like to hear feedback and experiences about what is working well and what needs to change.
The council has worked closely with the Northumberland Parent Carer Forum (PCF) to develop the survey, and the feedback will help to set the county SEND partnership’s vision and priorities over the next three years.
Areas covered included health, education, social care, preparation for adulthood, transport and access to leisure activities in their local communities.
