Updated KS1-4 lesson materials from the BBFC

As they grow up, children and young people begin to make increasingly independent choices around what to watch and where (or how) to watch it.

And in a world where film, video and website content is easier to access than ever before, PSHE education has a key role to play in encouraging safe and informed viewing choices.

From understanding and recognising the different age ratings to considering the impact of film and media content on wellbeing, the updated KS1-4 materials from the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) will support children and young people to safely navigate the world of film, video and online content.

All lesson packs are free to download and include comprehensive teacher guidance, multiple lesson plans, supporting classroom PowerPoints and pupil-facing materials.

The emphasis on film and video content provides a lens to explore wider issues around online safety, identity, peer pressure, relationships and consent.

The resources have been endorsed by the PSHE Association.
