The North East Combined Authority supports first/primary/middle schools across our region to deliver meaningful and impactful careers-related learning. The aim is to broaden horizons, raise aspirations, challenge stereotypes, and help children connect classroom learning to the world around them.
NECA are currently expanding the North East Ambition Primary Network ahead of the next academic year. 42 Northumberland primary schools are already involved.
What does becoming a member involve?
- Joining the Primary Network is free – there is no cost for the support provided
- NECA work flexibly with each individual school within the Network, tailoring our support based on individual needs and capacity.
- Annual 1:1 support to support each school review and enhance their careers related learning using the Primary Benchmarks as a framework of good practice
- Access to local communities of practice hosted by Career Champions across all 7 Local Authority areas
- Regular updates, via email, on opportunities, resources, and news relevant to careers related learning
- Invitations to regional conferences connecting career leaders, senior leaders, employers and other key stakeholders, to share the best practice and knowledge of our regional economy
- Access to the LinkUp Portal, a tool for connecting educators with employers
- Funded access to MYPATH Unlimited for the 2025–26 academic year – a platform with hundreds of careers resources, including videos showcasing a range of jobs and sectors.
