Updated Code of Practice April 25 

The attached code of practice will be loaded to Wizard for signature when we turn on summer term claims. Please ensure the correct staff have sight of it. 

Expansion Grant

Letters have been posted early this week informing you of your allocations if you currently have under 3s in your provision. If you do not receive your letter in the post by Friday 4th April, please contact us at earlyyearsteam@northumberland.gov.uk

Child Safety and Accident Prevention 

Child Safety and Accident Prevention Training 

The purpose of this training is to understand the importance of reducing childhood accidents, to gain a thorough understanding of the main causes of accidents in England and Northumberland, and how to integrate this knowledge into practice.  The training will also cover childhood accidents and development, signposting, and childhood illness.   

  • 8 April 2025 – 9.30 to 11.30

A range of other FREE health improvement related training is available to those who either live or work in Northumberland. A charge will be applied to anyone who does not meet the criteria.  See brochure attached

Good News

Early Years Professional Development Programme (EYPDP) Case Study

Launched as part of the DfE’s Early Years Education Recovery Programme to support the sector by delivering high quality CPD to up to 10,000 early years practitioners in England, the EYPDP welcomed its fourth and final cohort of practitioners in April 2024.   

Charlotte Potts, a childminder from Northumberland, shares her feedback after successfully completing the programme as past of Cohort 1.

Congratulations to Charlotte, and everyone who has completed the EYPDP programme. Look out for invitations to a celebration event soon.
