PAPYRUS

“PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide has recently launched their new PSHE lesson plan/license, Sinking Feeling. With the new government guidance for suicide prevention education in schools starting in Sept 2026, many school staff are looking for reliable, easy-to-use resources that address mental health needs in an age-appropriate way. Sinking Feeling is an educational package is designed to help teachers address these topics with students from Y6-Y13, and includes multiple PowerPoints, lesson plans, and printables to use, plus access to a dedicated Suicide Prevention Officer to support with any questions and guidance.

This resource is available free of charge to education staff who have completed PAPYRUS’ Suicide Prevention Explore, Ask and Keep Safe (SPEAK) training or the LivingWorks Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

If your school is interested in applying for the license, attending our CPD-accredited training, or learning more about PAPYRUS’ free support resources for young people and families, the Suicide Prevention Officer for Northumberland is Zander Godden (zander.godden@papyrus-uk.org, 07434233980)
