Northumberland’s Schools Forum met on 12 November 2025 to consider the information in relation to the current SEN position and also in relation to School Funding for 2026/27. The ESFA has recently updated their guidance in relation to the National Funding Formula for schools and this is available HERE
In order to inform the Schools Forum discussion at the meeting on 21 December 2026 we are keen to get the views from as many schools as possible so would encourage you to consider the information and complete the consultation by Wednesday 17 December 2025, when the consultation will close at 5.00pm.
At the meeting on 12 November 2025, Schools Forum supported a transfer of up to 0.5% from the Schools Block to the High Needs Block in light of the significant rise in Education Health and Care Plans and resulting SEN costs.
