MEE now offer fully-funded accreditation for Schools, Colleges or Nurseries to recognise efforts to embed sustainability across the curriculum.
Applicants need to provide a small amount of evidence to illustrate the 6 key areas. It’s all things they may already have, or can gain with a few simple steps.
- Embed the climate and nature crisis across at least 5 subject areas
- Use MEE outcomes as a foundation to facilitate community engagement
- Staff participate in training around the climate and nature crisis
- The curriculum engages with all 7 MEE themes – Energy, Transport, Food, Nature, Society, Waste, Water
- Communicate with the wider community about sustainability and the Ministry of Eco Education
- Assess the impact of actions through a Teacher Survey
MEE can provide support such as our curriculum with associated resources, staff CPD, school visits and help with their Climate Action Plan. Successful applicants will be given a banner to put up in school or on the gates stating they embed sustainability across the curriculum.
