Dear Colleagues,
Updates from the Team
Summer 25 working families code eligibility
We are really sorry to say that whilst we are cleaning the data from headcount we are recognising that there are still a number of providers offering places to parents with ineligible codes for the term. Codes with a start date after 31st March and therefore the children are not eligible to the expanded/extended hours until next term. Please check you Wizard summaries for validity of the codes.
We cannot pay for ineligible codes and your claims will be reduced in line with this. We do not have capacity to call you to tell you this as there is now almost 10,000 children in the funding system. We have built Wizard so you can self serve here. Please be vigilant here as this could have a significant effect on your income!
YOU MUST NOT OFFER FREE CHILDCARE WITHOUT THE KNOWLEDGE THAT THE CHILD IS ELIGIBLE THIS TERM VIA YOUR WIZARD SUMMARIES.
2nd Headcount Request SUM 2024-25
If you have any disadvantaged 2 year olds who have; started accessing funding with you, or have increased their hours since full headcount, please email sophie.downing@northumberland.gov.uk to request a 2nd headcount form by Friday 20th June 2025
Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision Virtual Training

The training is suitable for anyone who works with children from birth to 5, and will give you information about how to use the document to support children with emerging needs and SEND within your setting, see attached for information.

Good News
Congratulations!🎉Â

A huge congratulations to all our practitioners who have successfully completed the EYPDP programme, funded through the DfE as part of the Covid recovery package.
On Friday, we met with some of our practitioners who had completed the course to celebrate their hard work and dedication. It was wonderful to hear about their experience with the EYPDP programme and how they have continued to implement strategies and monitor the impact of their work to support the best outcomes for children in their settings. Well done once again and congratulations.
