Work experience in partnership with NHS Choices College

Choices College are looking for genuine work experience opportunities and the aim is, after training, to have our students working independently supporting you in the classroom. Students would be placed on a volunteer DBS through your school or nursery at no cost to the school. We complete all other paperwork for you and provide full support, advice and assistance as and when required.

Choices College is a specialist college providing tailored educational support, and a supported internship course for young adults aged 16-24 with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, and/ or autism.

They partner with NHS healthcare settings, local organisations and private businesses to create supported work environments to provide real work experience for our Interns.

Support is tailored to each intern, based on their skills and interests.

Interns spend 1 year learning maths, English and employability skills and attend up to three, 12-week placements with a Choices College Partner.

Students have a basic awareness of the EYFS profile and safeguarding in babies and young people. The students have also all been inducted to NHS standards prior to starting the course this includes:

We also offer support and guidance to the teams who are supporting our students.  We are able to give advice, support and training where required.  We will train key staff about the young person – informing about their strengths and weaknesses.  We understand that it is important that the work placement.
