COP29 Event information

I wanted to pass through some information around our COP29 Event, which is being held at County Hall, Morpeth on Friday 22nd November, from 9:30am – 1pm.

We are holding an in-person COP29 focussed in-person event, which will look at climate action across the world, as well as what more local actions are taking place across Northumberland within schools. It will be a morning event and will be open to Teachers and up to 4 Students, from years 8 – 11

You can sign up using this link

The session will cover:

  • An overview of our new Climate Change Action Plan 2024 – 2026
  • A chance for students to look at climate views from across the world in a mini UN style COP29 summit (Before the session you’ll be required to prep a 1 minute speech based on the country you are allocated, with all information being sent through to you ahead of the event)
  • What schools are currently doing in the climate space
  • What schools could further get involved with

We’ll be sending full details out to you once you’ve registered, and will let you know more about the organisation, logistics, documentation etc. in the next couple of weeks.

Sign up is open now, and will close on Thursday 24th October 2024.

Do let me know if you have any questions or queries about the event and we look forward to hearing from you soon.
