Inclusion Stories – Week 4

Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision Virtual Training 

We are running a virtual training session about using the Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision – see attached. The training is suitable for anyone who works with children from birth to 5, and will give you information about how to use the document to support children with emerging needs and SEND within your setting.

Child Safety Week 

Send on behalf our Northumberland Child Safety Reference Group. 

As previously mentioned, Child Safety Week is from 2nd-8th June 2025.  

The theme for this year is ‘Safety is for Sharing’. Once again, CAPT have pulled together materials which can be found here. They also have a social media toolkit which can be found here.  

As the theme says, safety is for sharing, so please share as widely as possible.

Oral Health

Oral Health Course Calendar 

The Directorate of Multi-Professional Dental Education (DMDE) Oral Health Improvement Team provides verifiable CPD training events for the non-dental workforce in the North East and north Cumbria. They offer regular oral health training both face-to-face and virtually, their training events are designed for the educational workforce – see attached flyer.

Oral Health Training for Early Years Services

This online oral health training session will give practical advice on the importance of a healthy mouth and promote healthy lifestyle choices for good oral health in children in early years. 

Free 1-Hour Virtual Training Session. 

Oral Health Training in Oral Health Awareness

This online oral health training is for those with an interest in improving oral health. It will give practical advice on oral health routines, the management of oral health conditions and the links between oral health and general health.

Upcoming Events

Early Help Assessment training

Training to run and lead an EHA in Northumberland is available for free. You can access this via Learning Together.  

Training is to take place on 25th June 2025. Training can by accessed by  Childminders, school staff and PVI’s  

Child Safety and Accident Prevention

There are still spaces available for the Child Safety and Accident Prevention course on Thursday 5th June. 

The purpose of this training is to understand the importance of reducing childhood accidents, to gain a thorough understanding of the main causes of accidents in England and Northumberland, and how to integrate this knowledge into practice. The training will also cover childhood accidents and development, signposting, and childhood illness. 

The training is from 9.30am-11.30am via teams, sign up is free, book now via Learning Together.
