Paediatric First Aid Training Survey

From September 2025, Northern Training Partnership, who deliver our Paediatric First Aid (PFA) training, would like to move to a blended offer.

They propose that the blended course model will continue to run over 2 days, however one of these days will be through a virtual self led learning offer.

The benefits of this offer include:

  • Staff able to complete the first 6 hours (day 1) of training at a time most convenient to them (across multiple days/weeks if needed)
  • Provider not required to provide as much release time and cover for staffing accessing training
  • Day 2 delivered face to face session alongside moderators.
  • Reassurance for provider that new offer continues to cover all of the EYFS Statutory Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements.

An option to continue to provide the PFA training as a 2 day face to face offer will be considered if this is the preferred option of providers.

To help us plan for your preferences as a setting, please answer the following short survey, here

Free online learning. *Solihull* What the data is telling us.

Northumberland County Council has been partnered with the Solihull Approach to offer FREE online support developed by psychologists and professionals for nearly 2 years.

The data is showing us that the families who have completed the online support tell us that has been very beneficial.

EYPP+

Those of you who are accessing your funding breakdowns in Wizard will have noted that EYPP+ has been paid to all children entitled to EYPP this term, regardless of age range.

We took this step to ensure underspend from last financial year was distributed to the most disadvantaged children. Please contact your early years consultant if you wish to discuss the best ways to spend this to support inclusive practice and narrowing the gap. Note this is a one-off arrangement and moving forward payments for EYPP+ will be made to 3- and 4-year-olds only.
