Navigator Insight are working in partnership with Oxford MeasurEd and the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF), on an upcoming national research project that may be of interest to first/primary schools.
They are currently recruiting schools for the Teacher Choices: Explicit vs Metacognitive Writing Instruction trial, running during the 2026–27 academic year. The project explores how different approaches to teaching sentence combining in Year 3 and Year 4 influence pupils’ writing outcomes.
More information can be found here: https://www.navigator-insight.co.uk/teacher-choices

- A teacher completing a brief fortnightly 2‑minute delivery log during the teaching period.
- Optional attendance at an information webinar.
- Sharing pupil information securely through our digital portal as part of onboarding.
