Safeguarding and Welfare Requirements updates – September 2025
As you will be aware, following a recent Government consultation there are changes and updates being made in the Safeguarding and Welfare requirements section of the EYFS. These are due to come into force in September 2025.
In order to help you understand the impact these changes may make to your policy and practice we have put together a series of 15 minute bitesize briefing sessions which will be delivered at 1pm on a Wednesday starting on the 11th June and finishing the last week of term.
We will be covering the changes to both the group provider and childminder versions of the EYFS.
Childminders – we will also be sharing the information from these sessions applicable to childminders in our next childminder network on Thursday 19th June.
The attached poster has information regarding the content of each session and a form link to register your attendance.
Please note that you only need to register once to attend all six sessions.

Early Years Inclusion Stories
We’re celebrating all the fabulous inclusive practice happening in Northumberland! Each week we will share a story where a setting has demonstrated best practice in relation to a particular aspect of effective inclusive practice.
This week we’ll hear from Spittal First School, Berwick here on how they’ve used their EYPP funding to make a difference to the disadvantaged children in their nursery class.
