This letter assures headteachers and governing bodies that members of staff from Northumberland County Council (NCC) Education & Skills Service and Children’s Social Care including, student social workers and social work apprentices who visit education settings, carry a Northumberland County Council photographic identity badge. The presentation of a valid NCC identity badge provides assurance that appropriate safeguarding and suitability checks have been completed.
NCC can confirm that staff undertaking visits to schools have been recruited in line with safe recruitment requirements and have undergone the appropriate safeguarding and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks relevant to their role.
