North East Ambition are pleased to invite your KS4 and KS5/post‑16 students to take part in our latest Green Energy Careers Roadshow – an engaging, fast‑paced event showcasing the wide range of careers and pathways within the green energy sector in the North East.
Event details:
Date: Friday 6 March (am)
Location: Energy Central Campus, Blyth
The event will last 75 mins (there are two time slots available: 09.15 – 10.30 or 10.45 – 12.00), although we will ask you to arrive at the venue 15 minutes early (09.00 or 10.30). It will include 3 separate elements:
- A short introduction to the green energy sector
- Employer rotations where small groups of 7–8 students spend 8 minutes each with four different employers
- A marketplace, allowing students to speak with all employers as well as FE and HE providers offering relevant courses and routes into the sector
What students will gain
The event is designed to help students:
- Understand the range of roles available in the green energy sector
- Explore the routes into the sector including apprenticeships, technical education and higher education (including requirements)
- Hear directly from employers – including current or recent apprentices and graduates (where possible)
- Ask questions and make informed decisions about future choices
About the employers
Participating employers will provide short, interactive sessions covering:
- What their organisation does
- The roles they offer
- Entry routes and qualification requirements
- Skills they look for
- Progression and development opportunities
Why take part?
This event will provide a series of meaningful encounters for students to meet real employers, explore a rapidly expanding and important regional sector, and build confidence in making career decisions.
If you would like to express an interest in attending this event, please complete this form by Monday 9 February (12pm). Places will be given on a first come, first served basis although we will also give preference to schools/colleges with above average FSM and/or whose students face other barriers.
This is a similar event to one organised at Port of Tyne on 11 December.
