Explore Secondary School information – trial for parents of year 6 pupils

The Department for Education is trialling a new service for parents and carers with a child starting secondary school in the autumn. Northumberland County Council have agreed to disseminate the information to schools.

The DfE and NCC would be grateful if you could share the information below with the parents/carers of year 6 pupils who are moving to secondary schools in September.

About School Profiles

School Profiles is a new online tool designed to help you find and compare state schools in England. It brings together important information in one place, including:

  • information about school policies
  • curriculum and extra-curricular activities
  • academic performance data

This is a trial of the service

School Profiles is currently in a trial phase and the Department for Education is continuing to improve it and add new features over time.  They are asking for a small number of parents in Northumberland to test it.
This is an opportunity to shape the service.
They will be gathering feedback during this period to help improve it before it is made available nationwide.

This service is led by the Department for Education and not the Local Authority.
