New to Year 6 – Moderation and assessment of writing

Aimed at: Teachers who are new to Year 6 (or those who would like a refresher)

Venue: Cramlington – West Hartford Fire Station  

 Date:  Tuesday 1 December 2026   9am-1pm 

This training is for teachers new to Year 6 (or those who would like a refresher) who wish to get a better understanding of the end of key stage expectations and assessment in writing.  

We will use samples of work and the Teacher Assessment Framework to unpick some of the ‘I can’ statements for the expected standard and greater depth. We will look at the external moderation process and administration of SATs. 

There is no charge for maintained schools or those signed up to the Moderation and Testing SLA. Costs for schools from outside of the SLAs are charged at £45 per participant.
