Target Writing Workshop (SMART) (Prudhoe)

Join us for this practical and engaging workshop designed to support Early Years practitioners in developing confidence and consistency when writing clear, effective targets for children who require additional support.

This session focuses on building a strong understanding of target-setting principles, ensuring that targets are meaningful, achievable, and support children’s individual developmental needs. Practitioners will explore how to break down broader outcomes into manageable steps and embed best practice within everyday provision.

By the end of this workshop, practitioners will be able to:

  • Develop a clear understanding of a child’s primary area of need
  • Embed high-quality universal (ordinarily available) provision into practice
  • Understand the key principles of SMART target setting
  • Break down long-term goals into smaller, achievable steps
  • Create short-term, focused SMART targets that support progress and development
