ELKLAN Speech and Language Support for Vulnerable Young People (8 Sessions)

This is a research based, accredited training course for those of you teaching or supporting vulnerable young people who have communication challenges and social and emotional needs. It will help you identify those with undiagnosed language and communication needs and provides essential strategies to help you to help them.

This practical and evidence-based course provides you with theoretical knowledge and an abundance of practical skills and ideas to support pupils who are living or being educated in vulnerable contexts such as Specialist and Alternative provisions. It uses interactive teaching methods, practical activities, videos and group discussion to engage you and support your learning.

The course consists of 8 fortnightly sessions each lasting two hours.
This course:
• Gives you an externally verified and accredited level 2 or 3 award.
• Learners complete a Learning Log, completed throughout the course to gain accreditation.
• There is a time commitment involved to completing activities with young people and evaluating practice.

  Session 3: Wednesday 2nd April 2025 3-5pm
  Session 4: Wednesday 30th April 2025 3-5pm
  Session 5: Wednesday 14th May 2025 3-5pm
  Session 6: Wednesday 4th June 2025 3-5pm
  Session 7: Wednesday 18th June 2025 3-5pm
  Session 8: Wednesday 2nd July 2025 3-5pm
