Understanding Filtering, Monitoring and Reporting

Back in 2023 KCSIE was updated with significant importance placed on filtering and monitoring. The Meeting digital and technology standards in schools and colleges document was also updated. In this session we’ll provide an overview of how filtering, monitoring and reporting works in your school and the systems and processes you should put in place to ensure these are managed effectively. The session will cover:

DfE Guidance
Your school network
How your internet traffic is filtered
How to open / close access to websites
How your online activity is monitored
Other safeguards – Apple Classroom, mdm and Chrome management
Reports & reacting to incidents and concerns
The Northumberland online Safety Audit

Please note – this session will focus on the products utilised by most Northumberland schools: Fortinet and Senso. If you use an alternative service you might wish to seek additional input from your provider.

All curriculum sessions are free to attend for schools in ICT SLA1.

Online Safety Sessions are free to attend for schools in ICT SLA3.

Schools can email me or Jordan.graham@northumberland.gov.uk to reserve a place.
