Early Years: Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP)
This session will look in depth at the newly launch Northumberland Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision document. It will be an opportunity to explore how the document can support inclusive practice using case study examples. By the end of the session, practitioners will:
- Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Northumberland Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision document.
- Be able to use the Northumberland Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision to be able to help identify a child’s primary area of need and the appropriate strategies to support the child to access the curriculum and provision.
- Understand how the Northumberland Early Years Ordinarily Available Provision document supports the graduated approach.
- Understand and be able to implement an effective inclusive early years learning environment for all children through a universal, targeted and specialist approach.
- To be able to identify when to seek additional support and/or funding for individual children when appropriate
