Early Years: Getting Ready to Write

The aim of this session is to give EY practitioners the knowledge and skills they need to provide a holistic writing offer for EY children. In this session, practitioners will learn how writing progresses in preparation for writing in reception. By the end of this session, practitioners will: · Understand what progression in writing looks like in preparation for writing in reception. · Identify strategies to support children throughout their school readiness journey. · Have a clear understanding of how the curriculum can be designed to support early writing, including consideration of the learning environment.

This course is for EY practitioners in nursery and reception. This course could also be useful for KS1 staff who have children who did not meet ELG in writing.
