Following huge demand, The Great North Maths Hub are delighted to announce we will again be hosting ‘The Singapore Maths Approach’ facilitated by Wendy Mitcheson.

In this session, Wendy will impart her extensive knowledge of Singapore Maths, sharing the key principles behind the approach, and introduce you to the Singapore Bar, and how the bar can be used as a tool for solving word problems.
There will be opportunities to look at children’s work from a school which has recently adopted the Singapore approach. Wendy will also explain how embedding aspects of Singapore Maths, can support our Mathematics curriculum.
This session is provided free of charge to primary school teachers in schools within the Northumberland, Tyne, Wear and County Durham areas. However, late cancellations or non-attendance on the day will result in a £30 fee being charged to the school.
Refreshments will be available throughout.
There is plenty of parking available at the venue. On arrival advise the attendant that you are there for training to receive free parking.
About Wendy Mitcheson
Wendy Mitcheson has attended an intensive 5 day training course delivered by Dr Yeap Ban Har, and been instrumental in sharing this approach as part of her work with North Tyneside Learning Trust. She has spent considerable time researching the approach and is keen to share this knowledge with teachers in the North East.
