|The Great North Maths Hub are delighted to be welcoming two Secondary Maths teachers from Shanghai to Northumberland, who will be spending two weeks teaching at Cramlington Learning Village as part of the DfE’s England-China Exchange programme. |
As part of this trip, they are delighted to offer the opportunity to observe the teachers delivering lessons to students at the school during two showcase events.
|This is an exciting opportunity to observe teachers from schools in Shanghai demonstrating their way of teaching for mastery. |
The event will start with an introductory presentation from our Teaching for Mastery Specialists and an overview of the sequence of recent lessons. Our Shanghai visitors will then deliver a lesson to a full class of students, followed by reflective discussion with our led by our teaching for mastery specialists, with a chance for Q&A with the Shanghai teachers.
On Tuesday 10th March, 12 Noon – 2.30pm, you can observe a lesson on Solving Equations with year 9 students.
On Wednesday 11th March, 1.45pm – 4pm, you can observe a lesson on Ratio with year 7 students.
These are free of charge events aimed at Secondary Mathematics teachers working in the North of England.
You may attend both events, but will need to book each separately. Advertised times have been set in line with the timings of the school day so please ensure you arrive by the times stated on the booking.
