Free training and resources to support your parents and carers with media literacy.
Northumberland has recently become an Everyday digital local champion area!
Everyday Digital is a brand new national programme from Parent Zone. Funded by the Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT), the programme will benefit families across the UK by helping them build their media literacy, to enjoy the best things the online world has to offer.
We are currently recruiting family-facing professionals to join the Everyday Digital Local Champions Network This is a fantastic opportunity to upskill a member of your team and provide them with resources to better engage with parents – for free – AND to provide parents with information that is regularly updated via a parentzone widget that can sit on your website.
The aim of this project is to help parents in our area expand their digital skills and confidence – we know that the children best equipped to keep themselves safe online are those with clued up parents, so we’re very keen for schools to get involved.
As a Local Champion, you will:
receive free professional training and personal development
receive access to a range of resources, activities and information to use with parents
join a network of like-minded professionals
You don’t have to be a media literacy expert to deliver the programme to your community.

You can also add the everyday digital widget to your school website. This provides relevant media literacy information which will automatically update when parentzone posts something new.
