The county council is looking to organise some events to participate in Local Democracy Week (9 – 15 October) this year.
We will be inviting middle/high/secondary schools across the county to County Hall to either Monday 9 October, Tuesday 10 October or Friday 13 October (all sessions would last from 10am to 1:30pm). The sessions will include a panel of county councillors for young people to ask questions to, run an e-voting quiz and other fun interactive sessions about democratic participation, and a tour of the civic rooms at County Hall.
A formal invite will be following shortly to all headteachers, but if you have any queries about these sessions in the meantime or like to book your school in or discuss your school’s availability on those dates, please contact Mike Bird in Democratic Services on telephone 01670 622616 / email democraticservices@
Please note we will endeavour to ensure that similar age groups are together on the same days, so can discuss with you what dates are most appropriate depending on interested schools’ preferences.
