I’m contacting all schools in Northumberland to let you know the contract for the delivery of Bikeability is going out to tender.
There is never an ideal time to do this but the tender period will coincide with the transition between school years and we hope disruption in delivery will be kept to a minimum.
To assist with this transition I am asking schools to get in touch via highwaysprogramme@northumberland.gov.uk to register their interest in Bikeability for the new school year, starting September 2024. I already have 6 schools on my list, which will be shared with the company that secures the new contract, so they can contact all the schools that have expressed an interest, to get the ball rolling.
Existing bookings with the Cycle Partnership up to the summer holidays will not be affected and will take place as planned
I shall update all schools in Northumberland on conclusion of the tender process and share details of who has been awarded the contract.
