My name is Fiona Wardlaw and I am one of the Family Support workers for ESCAPE. We work with families and friends who are affected by someone else’s drug and alcohol use. We have been running for 30 years along side NCC,NHS and NRP. ESCAPE has been given funding to work now in Rural Northumberland which basically all of it . We have a strong team of support workers who work with youth up to 90+ , all being carers in secret world often full of shame and stigma . We will work with families or individuals offer FREE support and guidance as well as loads of laughter lifting the often flattened spirits . This is a free and confidential service open to everyone in Northumberland, working at what ever level is best for them.
I was wondering if I could have a chat with any/all of you about our service and how we may be able a child or young adult who by no choice of their own has been put into this position, which effects their lives and emotional well being.
I am asking for 10mins of your time or your Senco workers time to listen to me explain about the referrals system etc so we can collectively support a young person.
