Northumberland SACRE – New Agreed Syllabus Launch

The event will:

• Introduce the new Northumberland Agreed Syllabus for RE, with its clarity, rigour, and inspiring support materials
• Provide practical support and guidance to schools in planning creative, challenging, thoughtful RE to increase pupils’ knowledge and understanding, as well as their personal development
• Give teachers confidence when planning and delivering great RE, and in dealing with core concepts in religions, deepening subject knowledge and skills in RE
• Model examples of thoughtful RE, challenging all pupils and promoting deeper thinking

Aimed at: Staff from first, primary, middle, secondary and high schools, including teachers, HLTAs, subject leaders and headteachers. We would expect all maintained schools without a designated denomination (community, foundation and voluntary-aided or voluntary-controlled schools without a religious character) to attend as the Agreed Syllabus must be followed in those schools. All other schools are welcome.
