CEOP- Introduction to Online Sexual Abuse

Tuesday 8th October, 2024

This training aims to help professionals working with children and young people understand what online child sexual abuse is and identify strategies and resources to help protect children and young people.

This training session will cover the following:
1.What online child sexual abuse is.
2.How the internet facilitates sexual abuse, both by adults and other children.
3.The impact of online sexual abuse
4.The activities children enjoy doing online, based on research.
5.What the social web framework is and how to use it to assess apps, sites and games.
Strategies and resources to help protect children and young people from online child
sexual abuse.

CEOP Six Part Series
Roles and responsibilities were more clearly outlined by the Dfe last year. We strongly advise DSLs to attend the full series of CEOP sessions listed below to ensure they have a strong foundational knowledge of online risks and can pass relevant information to their colleagues. Other members of staff are of course very welcome to attend. When booking please confirm you’re able to attend each of the sessions:

Live Streaming – Tuesday 11th February, 2025
Nude Image Sharing – Tuesday 8th April, 2025
The Dark Web – Tuesday 20th May, 2025
Challenging Victim Blaming Attitudes – Tuesday 24th June, 2025

All at 3.30pm – finishing 5.00pm latest
