Using the School Readiness Passport to Support Transitions in the summer term
As we move in a period time where transition processes are a significant focus for many settings, we thought it would be helpful to share a planner which details a checklist of actions practitioners should complete when using the passport to support the transition process. As you will already be aware, one of the primary aims of the passport was to support effective information sharing at points of transition in a format that is both simple and effective. The planner is broken into 2 sections – transitions for children leaving your setting, and transitions for children who are joining your setting.
Further guidance from the Early Years Team on planning for effective transitions can also be found in the ‘transition padlet‘. We hope you find the planner helpful in supporting your actions throughout the transition process.
Changes to the Incentive Payments for Hiring New Apprenticeships
From 1 June, businesses in England can apply for a new payment of £3,000 for each apprentice of any age they take on as a new employee between 1 April and 30 September 2021. We have an Adult Learning Team within the Council who can support settings who may consider taking on an Apprentice. They are based at the Fuse Media Centre in Prudhoe.
