COVID19 UPDATE FOLLOWING THE SECRETARY OF STATE’S ANNOUNCEMENT: Urgent response needed

Sent on behalf of Dean Jackson
Dear Headteacher,
COVID19 UPDATE FOLLOWING THE SECRETARY OF STATE’S ANNOUNCEMENT.
This is to update you on the local authority position following last night’s announcement by the Secretary of State.
The expectation of the local authority is that as many schools and alternative providers as possible will remain open for the children of key workers, those children with an EHCP and those children who have a social worker. The local authority will endeavour to support those schools / providers that are able to remain open in whatever way that we can, including the deployment of our staff to those schools.
We need you to provide, by completing the form here,  the following information as soon as possible and, if possible, by 3pm today:

  1. A complete list of those children at your school/provision who you currently believe to be eligible to attend on Monday. Please include: (1) children of key workers your best guess at this; (2) children with an EHCP; (3) children who have a social worker. Can you also include what percentage of your school/provision roll this is? Please provide the names of these children for potential transport purposes.
  2. On Monday, will you have sufficient staffing to accommodate the the number of children that you have listed above?
  3. Can you provide meals for all of your FSM children currently on roll for the foreseeable future, whether they are in school/provision or not?
  4. What additional capacity do you envisage you will have to support your local community, including children from other schools/providers?

PLEASE NOTE: The ICO has said that, for this information, GDPR regulation will not apply.
If you have any issues accessing the form, please contact: jacqui.pearson@northumberland.gov.uk by 3pm today.
If you are an Executive Headteacher, you will receive one email but please respond for all the schools that you are responsible for.
These are unprecedented times and we need to work together to come up with innovative and localised solutions to this situation. We will, however, endeavour to maintain a flow of information to all schools and alternative providers throughout this rapidly-changing period.
Yours,
Dean
