The Mayor of the North of Tyne Combined Authority, Jamie Driscoll, has said every state-funded school in Northumberland, Newcastle upon Tyne and North Tyneside should have a Climate Change Teacher.
Completing the course will give teachers the confidence, both in their own understanding and in their position as a UN accredited authority, to teach children effectively.
At the event, Northumberland UN Climate Change teacher Dr Meryl Batchelder, and education specialist and founder of the initiative Melanie Harwood, will describe the steps necessary to achieve the UN accreditation, how to incorporate it into the curriculum, resources available and the positive reaction from both staff and students.
Could this be you, or one of your staff? If so, register for the event in Gosforth on Monday 2 March and find out more about this fully funded opportunity. For further details including booking information please click here.
