Northumberland County Council Safeguarding and Wellbeing Team, Northumberland Domestic Abuse Services, Northumbria Health Improvement Service, Bait Creative People and Places and Open Clasp Theatre Company are delighted to be able to offer all secondary schools in Northumberland the opportunity of a free drama performance for Year 9 students designed to raise their awareness of child sexual exploitation. The performance will be followed by a workshop led by domestic violence peer educators to support students to learn about healthy relationships and how to spot the indicators of abusive relationships. This opportunity is linked to the ‘Strengthening Learning for Key Stage 4 Students: Healthy Relationships and Sexual Health and Wellbeing Project’ which is already being successfully delivered in many Northumberland secondary schools and is linked to the Violence Against Women and Girls Strategy. This project supports schools to safeguard our young people from becoming victims or perpetrators of abuse.
Please see the attached flyer for more information about this opportunity and how to book a performance in your school. Performances are available from Monday 5th June until Friday 7th July and will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
