PSHE education is becoming an increasingly important subject through which pupils develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe, and prepare for life and work in modern Britain. Evidence shows that well-delivered PSHE programmes have an impact on both academic and non-academic outcomes for pupils, particularly the most vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Children in Northumberland told us recently that the aspect of education they value is a curriculum that prepares them well for life.
This coming year we are piloting a programme of quality assured training, events and activities that educators can easily access, contribute to, and request. Co-developing resources to support our commitment to thriving, positive learning destinations and young people.
All of these resources are available on PSHE RSHE Padlet which can be accessed from the Northumberland Education site. Please check it regularly, and contribute to the development of these resources, the opportunities that arise, and the learning we hope to see – and of course the benefits for our young people.
