The SACRE is pleased to announce that, on 18th March 2020, a coach will depart from County Hall in Morpeth at about 9.00am for visits to the ISKCON Centre, the Sikh Gurdwara at the Big Lamp, the University of Newcastle Mosque and the Orthodox Synagogue. All four of the houses of worship are already popular destinations for Northumberland schools, so people who join the group will experience first-hand places on the radar of many of our schools.
About an hour will be spent in each house of worship so that everyone has a good look around and gets a feel for what their pupils and students can expect when they visit. In most cases you will also meet the person or persons who will be your hosts when you return with your pupils and students.
Anyone who would like to attend this important and invaluable CPD event should in the first instance contact Phil André at firstname.lastname@example.org who is assembling a list of teachers, etc. who want to travel to Newcastle on 18th March 2020. Your names will be forwarded to County Hall as soon as they reach Phil so your booking is confirmed.
We can cope with about 40 delegates on the day. As things firm up, delegates will be provided with information about appropriate dress and arrangements for lunch, but we advise everyone to bring a camera to take photos (if photos are not allowed, you will be advised in advance) and a little spending money. The spending money will be useful because we might manage an add-on mystery visit over the lunch break. The coach will depart from our last house of worship at about 3.25pm, so we will back at County Hall by about 4.00pm.
There will be no charge for this visit.
