The Great North Maths Hub receives substantial government funding to enable primary schools to work together to improve maths pedagogy and learning, and you are entitled to benefit from this funding.
Many Primary schools across Northumberland are already working with us to develop teaching for mastery, with a particular focus on the 5 big ideas: Coherence; Representation and Structure; Mathematical Thinking; Fluency and Variation. They are either taking part in the mastery readiness programme, or are involved in a local teacher research group to look at aspects of maths teaching that develop deep learning and understanding.
We are hosting two teatime meetings, where we will be share information about the funded programmes, and give you the chance to discuss these opportunities with our Teaching for Mastery Leads. Both events are 3.30pm – 5.30pm
- Monday 18th March – The White Swan Alnwick, NE66 1TD
- Monday 25th March – Matfen Hall, NE20 0RH
We are keen to ensure that all schools in the region take advantage of the funding available to develop their Primary Mathematics.
