School Partnership Working
From September 2018 the Early Years Team will support all Providers within a school partnership model rather than locality areas. This allows us to work consistently inline with other services within the education and skills sector. Please see the attached document for further information and to see which partnership your setting/school sits within.
Childminders please contact your current Childcare Development Worker if you are unsure of your partnership.
Early Years SEND Policy and Practice for Pre-School Learners
Please note the changes that have been implemented within Early Years Inclusion Support. There is no longer ‘Top-Up Funding’ as we have moved over to Early Years Short Term Additional Resource (EYSTAR) and it is an electronic process that can be completed through your schools 360 account, simply follow the Provider Pack document within your 2018-19 folder to ensure you have the relevant information and documentation before you complete the EYSTAR Google Form. For schools this is within your main School360 account.
There are also changes to the request for Statutory Assessment process which is now known as Consideration of Statutory Assessment (COSA). There are briefing sessions arranged to discuss the new changes and how to complete the new systems.
Monday 1st October – Berwick Children’s Centre
Tuesday 2nd October – Alnwick Children’s Centre
Wednesday 3rd October – Prudhoe Children’s Centre
Thursday 4th October – Morpeth Golf Club
Please could you book onto the session using this form as spaces may be limited in certain areas.

Workforce Development Update
Early Years Professional Development Programme 2018 -2019
We have received some very positive feedback from providers about our course programme and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued interest and support. Course booking is now more simplified. All you need to do is click on the hyperlink to each corresponding course that you are interested in. Places will be allocated in the date and time order in which they are received. Once you have applied you should receive notification that your application has been successful, however you should expect to receive formal course confirmation soon after. Lesley is working in priority order of the course dates so if you have applied for some course which are due to run next year you should expect to receive formal confirmation slightly later than those which are due to run prior to Christmas..
